Candidates are strongly advised to read through the detailed online application procedure available on the website. Online application process closes on March 6, 2017. There is no offline application mode available for NEST 2017.

‘Section–wise’ and ‘total’ cut–off marks

1. Total score of each candidate will be the direct sum of his/her score in the general section and his/her best three scores in the subject sections.

2. For each section, “20% of the average of the best 100 scores in that section” will be considered as Section–wise Minimum Admissible Score (SMAS).

Educational qualification:

Candidates seeking admission to NISER and UM–DAE CEBS for the integrated MSc programme 2017–22 should be from regular science stream only and preferably should have any combination of three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics in classes XI and XII. It is mandatory for all aspiring candidates to write the NEST 2017 examination. Admission will be offered strictly on the basis of Merit List of NEST 2017. Additionally, candidates must have passed class XII examination or equivalent from any recognised Board in India in the years 2015 or 2016 or be appearing for the same in 2017. Candidates who are appearing for the board examination in 2017 must pass it by the time of admission. Also, candidates must secure at least 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in class XII examination to be eligible for admission to NISER and CEBS. For candidates belonging to scheduled castes (SC), scheduled tribes (ST) and physically disabled (PD) categories, the minimum requirement of marks is relaxed to 55% in aggregate. Where only letter grades are available, a certificate from the concerned Board specifying equivalent percentage of marks is required to be submitted. In absence of such a certificate, the decision of the admissions committee of the concerned institution will be final.

Instruction:

Online application format and Instructions for Applying Online: Before filling up the application form the candidate should have a scanned image of his/her photograph, signature and left hand thumb impression (right hand's thumb in case the candidate do not have left hand thumb or any finger if both thumbs are not there). These scanned images are to be uploaded during the submission of application form. The photograph should be coloured with name of the candidate and date of taking the photograph printed on it. It should be without cap or goggles. Spectacles are allowed. Polaroid photos are not acceptable. Candidates with unclear photograph are liable to be rejected. Photograph should not be older than 3 months. Candidates may keep 10 identical photographs in reserve for use at the time of entrance examination, Seat Allocation Process and Admission.

Admission criteria to Diploma/Post Diploma/ Post Graduate Diploma in Engineering, Technology and Management Programs in Polytechnic Institutions affiliated to Board of Technical Education and others shall include the performance in the Joint Entrance Examination, UPJEE (POLYTECHNIC) - 2017.

Eligibility:

State Eligibility- A candidate will be treated as candidate of UP if He / She fulfill any of the condition of following.

  • His / Her parents are domicile of UP.
  • He / She Passed qualifying examination from UP.
  • Either of his / her parent is employee of Central Government and posted in UP.
